Dr. Murphy was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where he completed his medical training and general surgery residency at Dalhousie University. He did his plastic surgery residency in Boston at The Lahey Clinic, a multi-specialty surgical clinic affiliated with Harvard University. Dr. Murphy completed his training under the tutelage of Dr. Brooke Seckel, a world-renowned lecturer and author in aesthetic surgery and, in particular, breast and facial aesthetic surgery.

Performing Plastic Surgery in Denver Since 1994

Dr. Murphy moved to Denver, Colorado in October 1994 and established his practice at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado in 1996. Dr. Murphy is a previous Chief of Plastic Surgery at Swedish Medical Center. Since the early days of his practice, Dr. Murphy has focused on aesthetic surgery, specializing in plastic surgery of the face and breast, with extensive experience in body contouring and liposuction. For the last ten years, Dr. Murphy has performed only cosmetic surgery in his private office surgical suite, focusing all of his energy on bringing his patients the ultimate aesthetic surgical experience.

Dr. Murphy is sought out regularly by the local media for his opinion on subjects involving aesthetic surgery. As one of Denver’s premier plastic surgeons, he has been featured in The Rocky Mountain News, HealthONE’s One magazine and the Denver Business Journal as well as on local radio and television. His colleagues have voted him as a Denver Top Doctor for aesthetic surgery in 5280 magazines.

Dr. Murphy is married to his skincare coordinator, Beth Murphy, and they have four children. They make their home in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
