Dr. Murphy is committed to using the most advanced, proven techniques for his patients. For many years he has used the Power Assisted Liposuction (also known as the PAL technique) for his liposuction patients. PAL involves utilizing a device where the liposuctions cannula is attached to a handpiece which oscillates the cannula back and forth 4000 times per minute. The power of the PAL cannula is more effective in mobilizing the fat cells and does a lot of the work for Dr. Murphy which allows him to focus more on the sculpting aspect of the procedure. It is a truly advanced lipo-sculpture technique. Dr. Murphy has also found that the PAL technique leads to less pain and swelling and a quicker recovery for his patients.*

Liposuction is almost always performed on an outpatient basis. Small discreetly placed incisions that will be barely perceptible when healed are utilized during the procedure. A “tumescent” type solution is infiltrated into the planned areas of liposuctions with a thin cannula. This solution aids in removal of the fat, numbs the area and markedly decreases bleeding, minimizing bruising and making it possible to safely remove larger volumes in a single procedure. Once the effects of the tumescent solution set in, the fat is gently removed with movement of a cannula within the fat layer.*
Liposuction is not a weight loss technique. It is best performed on patients who have worked on their shape but have nagging areas they want improved. Patients do, however, report that they see a significant change in how their clothes fit, requiring an “adjustment” down in their clothes at least one or two sizes. What a great combination; looking thinner, feeling better about yourself, and shopping for new clothes!*

Meet Dr. MurphyThat is exactly what we have been talking about. Liposuctions is all about selecting the appropriate cells to remove so that we can sculpt your body to its more pleasing form. The single most important advance in the field of liposuctions has been the introduction of smaller cannula diameter, thereby decreasing the trauma to the tissues. This leads to less bruising and swelling and quicker recovery.*
This catchy term is a simplification of how the extent of a liposuction procedure needs to be approached, i.e. everyone needs the entire circumference of their trunk to be treated. Dr. Murphy has a thorough understanding of the fat deposits in the body which allows him to select which areas are to be treated in each patient. Through a thorough examination as part of your consultation he will discuss with you the pros and cons of liposuction for each area of your body and help you to achieve your desired result.
