What Procedures Does the Murphy Gender Center Provide?
The Murphy Gender Center offers the following services:
• Facial feminization
• Body feminization
• Breast augmentation
• Female-to-male top surgery
Facial feminization is a group of procedures designed to make a man’s face look more feminine. The surgery aims to make the patient’s features appear softer, smoother and balanced.
One physical difference between men and women is the location of fat deposits on their body. In body feminization transgender procedures, our surgeon in Englewood, CO may move fat deposits around to give the patient a more feminine silhouette.
When used in transgender procedures, breast augmentation involves the use of implants. In most cases, our surgeon will use “gummy bear” implants, which are more formally known as the “high cohesive silicone” implant. They are also described as “form stable” implants because the silicone has a thicker-than-usual consistency and can, therefore, hold its shape even when the shell breaks.
Female-to-male top surgery is the most common gender affirmation surgery performed on female-to-male patients. It is done to give the patient a more masculine chest. During this procedure, our surgeon can reduce the breasts to masculine proportions and alter the contours of the chest.
